My best friend is near death's door. She isn't aware, but she's destroying herself. How you may ask? Because of the Master Emerald and all seven of the Chaos Emeralds. I have no idea how she got them from Sonic or even how she managed to use the power of the Master Emerald with that echidna blowing up, but she did it. She's hovering hundreds of feet in the air at this very moment with a large magnetic portal behind her. The energy is so strong that even the bullets and missals they launch at her blow before reaching her from the pressure. The sounds of screaming people and policemen's loud speakers telling them to exit the city as calm as they can is now mute to me. All I hear is the bone-crushing noise of the energy field around my friend, MoonDance crackling like fire. The heat is beating on the front of my body because I'm floating right in front of her. She is in her super form, as am I. She is mentally broken, though unaware of it.  She speaks to me about how she was an incomplete project, so this is why she can't grab hold of reality: the Emeralds' power surged through her body and basically overloaded her. I'm Shadow the Hedgehog and I plan to fix this minor problem. MoonDance's irises and pupils have disappeared, so I am unaware if she is looking at me or just staring into the open.
Lucky for me, my energy waves pretty much match those of hers, so this field of electric current will not harm me much. The field stretches around six yards in all directions around her. I close in on the force field and as soon as I enter it, my energy waves pop like someone just through dead brush into a fire. My chest feels a slight pressure and my limbs turn a little sore.

"MoonDance." I say, "You must realize what you are doing! If you keep this up, then you'll be destroyed!"

She just stares until she tilts her head to one side. I reach my hand out to her, but she continues her stare. I get a little closer to her, but the pressure on my chest and limbs starts to worsen. It's bearable though. The portal continues to grow by the minutes, consuming larger objects each time. I'm getting desperate. If all these people in this city fall off the face of the Earth tomorrow I wouldn't care, but MoonDance is my concern. Suddenly, she grabs my arm and I inhale because of the cold chills that just ran up my spine and filled the rest of my body. Then, her grip tightens and instantly I know she is not willing to give up yet. Hesitant to protect myself for her safety, I pause and she make a 180 degree turn going vision blurring speeds and releases me. I'm flung into a nearby tower, crashing through every wall until I reach the center of it. I peal myself from the last wall, which now is practically ready to collapse. I breathe in from aggravation and watch her through the hole my body left in the building. In a flash MoonDance is directly inside the whole in the wall, leaving her protective energy field. She snarls—the first time she's made a facial expression the past few hours. I fly towards her the same time she launches and me and we lock hands. While we both push with enough force to snap five men at the same time if our hands were big enough. Maybe more force than that, but I'm able to grab her by her wrist and throw her out of a window before we're able to add anymore force.
She slams into another skyscraper across from the smaller building I'm in. Right after impact, she peals herself from the cement and rips a large chunk of it from the building, about the size of a car, and hurls it at me. I hold out my hand and my power destroys it, but before the air is clear enough to see through, I feel a hand grab my neck and then I feel something like wind whipping around my back. I rub my eyes and see MoonDance looking at me from over the edge of the building and I realize she's getting smaller. Then, it hits me like a brick, I'm plummeting to the ground. Before I can react to catch myself, my body is buried under about seven foot of cement and dirt.  Using some of my energy, I blow it off of me and leap from the hole. MoonDance is directly in front of me, but I think, "Not this time." And grab her by her neck and slam her to the ground. I feel the pulse in her neck slow and her body goes limp for a minute. I open my eyes wide and realize I could've killed her, until her snow-white eyes open quickly and she manages to bring her foot up and kick me under my jaw. I leave the ground few feet and hit a light pole on the way down. I wipe the blood from my mouth, "You're just full of surprises, aren't you?"

MoonDance doesn't change her expression anymore. She walks to me, one foot in front of the other, hips swaying, arms swinging slightly as if she's confident. Her jet-black hair sways in tune with her. Then, she speaks in a language I'm not familiar with. In fact, I've never heard anything like it. It obviously wasn't French, the language she spoke in sometimes, or Spanish, or Latin, or German, or anything. I can't help but wonder what she's saying as the distance between us closes in. I stand as she nears, readying myself for another surprise kick, punch, or something else. Once she in reaching distance, I grab her by her neck and fly into the air with her grabbing at my wrists. As soon as I'm above all of the skyscrapers in the city, I fling her towards an open area on a hill, as much as it pains me to do so. She flew smoothly through the air like a meteorite and when she hit the ground, grass and dirt flew in the air. I fly to the area she's at and land. She sits up with her legs stretched out in front of herself and her hands on her lap. I try to walk to her, but black creatures come from the ground and pull me down with their numbers. I try to pull myself up, but they continue to pull me with large grins on their faces. MoonDance is staring at her lap, emotionless.

"MoonDance, look at me!" I demand. She is silent for a short period. I think that if I can just get her to look at me, then she'll realize that what's she's doing is tearing her from the inside.

"I…can't." She replies calmly with tears in her eyes. It's good to hear her voice, but knowing that any minute she could die quickly ruins my joy.

"Yes you can! Look at me!" I demand again. Then, I'm able to jerk free from the creature's grasps and quickly get on one knee in front of her. I place my hands just behind her face and lift her head to be level with mine. For a moment, she looks at me, still without an expression, "Shadow…" She says faintly. Suddenly, I'm pulled away from her by those black creatures again. "No!" I shout. Then, I see MoonDance slam her hands together and all of the creatures behind me vaporize. Once again, I run to her, but she had collapsed on her back. Black smoke and purple lights swirl around her body and in a few seconds, she's back to her normal self. I sigh and scoop her into my arms. Her body is limp and her head dangles over my arm. I fly in the direction I know where help can always be found, even if I don't usually welcome it.
Later, I'm sitting in small chair in the corner of a room, watching MoonDance lay motionless on a metal table with the only light coming from a small bulb overhead. The light can't reach me, so I'm in darkness. She is wearing nothing but a black tube-like top and a black miniskirt-like bottom. Then, she jerks and opens her eyes. She glances around the room.

"You're safe." I say calmly, hiding the overwhelming joy in my voice.

She turns in my direction instantly, breathing heavy. She's propped up on her elbows and her knees are pulled up. I stand and walk to her and she eyes me. As I press the back of my hand against her forehead, I say, "You're fine, just a few bruises and scratches. I brought you to Sonic."
She stays still and continues to stare at me, and then she puts her hand on mine and leans up more. I lean back a little more, uncomfortable being this close to her right after she was a little… destructive.

"Shadow." She said, "Did I hurt you or my friends?"

After a pause and different answers bouncing around my head like Ping-Pong balls, I think of how she grabbed my neck and slung me into objects multiple times. Sure, it hurt, but not bad enough to add it to her confusion and worry, "No. We're all fine." She looks at me suspiciously, and then sits up completely, "Am I okay?" I smile, "Yes you are."

Then, she shifts her body to face me, throwing her legs over the side of the table. The table is low, so now our heads are level. Her knees are touching my waist. "So." She says with a slight grin, "Who stopped me?" She knew this question would force me to spill more of the truth than I wanted, "I did." I reply. "How bad does this hurt?" She asks while lifting my arm, revealing a four-inch gash underneath it. "I…did notice it." I partially lie. I glanced at it when I arrived here with MoonDance. I pull my arm in and she hunches over like she usually sits. "Do you feel pain anywhere?" I get closer to her and glance over her body quickly. "Nope." She shakes her head and speaks in a playful tone.

"Do you remember anything that happened?" I question.

"Uh…No." She replies, slightly less happy, "But I thank you for helping me."

I turn to leave the room, feeling strange things, but she grabs my arm. I pause, but keep my head to the ground. At the angle I'm in, I could easily look over at her with my eyes, but I'm trying not to do that, tempting as is. Then, she pushes my arm to her right, turning me around. MoonDance grabs my other arm and pulls me toward her. I can't help myself as I simply pull the hair from her face. She leans in closer to me and instinctively, I kiss her. She kisses as though it was not her first time, but something tells me it was. Slowly, she wraps both arms around me and I just prop on my hands that are on each side of her.

"Thank you." She pulls away just far enough to speak, keeping our faces only an inch away and I smile in return.
When you were standing in the wake of devastation
When you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
And with the cataclysm raining down
Insides crying, "Save me now"
You were there impossibly alone

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
You build up hope but failure's all you've known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go
Let it go

And in a burst of light that blinded every angel
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
No one there to catch you in their arms

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
You build up hope but failure's all you've known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go
Let it go

I LOVE THIS SONG!!! It's the theme song for the new Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie! I love that move. XD I also listened to Fire In My Eyes by Fireflight, which ALL of her songs remind me of my little MoonDance. :lmao:

Anyway, I know I started plainly and the story is short with a rather strange ending, but this is how the idea came into my mind. ^^
