It was twilight in the kingdom of Soleanna. The skies glowed blue and the clouds had a blue hue to them. The air was cold and the streets were empty. No one but one small hedgehog walked them. She had her hands in her jacket pockets and her collar folded around her neck to keep warm. Her steps seemed to carry with the wind which blew litter from the ditches over into the road. A newspaper that was flying through the air clung to her leg, but as she walked it freed itself and continued to blow on.
Every store and clothing boutique was closed and most of the building windows were broken. It was a scene that should've taken place in a horror movie where the living dead terrorized a city. The traffic lights weren't working and a few abandoned vehicles were parked in the middle of the road as if someone pulled the breaks and ran. The hedgehog, Charm, walked solemnly on the sidewalks and glanced inside of the small shops that she passed. All of the merchandise had been mostly destroyed and half of the buildings were burned in parts. Soot and ashes lay on the floors. Charm kept walking as if this was no big emergency. As she kept walking, she noticed the park's trees were dead and the grass was dried out. There was no sign of life anywhere. Charm looked at the ground as she walked. The sight of her city... No, the sight of her home being this way tore her inside. She remembered when children ran through the park and played loudly on the playground. She remembered when the shops were always open and the sun always shone on the city. She didn't cry though. She was stronger than that and she was tired of crying everyday when Soleanna became this way.
Charm continued to walk until she reached an abandoned orphanage. She looked up at the windows which were high because of the large cement slabs under the building. They were broken. The white paint was chipped away, revealing the old grey boards that were damp from moisture. She sighed and walked around the building to the back yard. There was a sand pit with toys left in it. There was also a swing set and jungle gym. Charm looked at the toys, but had to ignore them as she approached an old storm shelter that was built into the side of the orphanage. She moved the old boards that had fallen from the tops rooms and brushed away the pieces of shattered glass. She grabbed the handle and pulled. There was a small area there with an extra set of stairs that had been built into the floor of the storm shelter. Charm glanced at the area around her to make sure she was alone, and then she climbed down into the shelter. She turned and grabbed one of the many lanterns that were lined up on a shelf and pressed the 'on' button. She then shut the door to the shelter and the small area was lit up brightly. There were survival supplies everywhere. There were some in crates, and some on the floors. Matches and small candles were on the shelves also. A few light bulbs hung from the ceiling even though there was no power in the shelter. Some blankets were folded in the corner of the room and half of the crates were full of canned foods that would take years to spoil.
Charm bent over and pulled a rope, revealing another pair of stairs under a section of boards. She entered the dark set of stairs that seemed to go straight down and seemed to last forever. She shut the door and latched a metal lock behind herself. She walked down the stairs slowly as each one creaked under her weight. The walls were only dirt and were about two and a half foot wide. Charm grinned, thankful that she wasn't claustrophobic. After walking down the flight of stairs for a while, she finally reached one more hatch in the floor. She held the lantern behind herself once more to make sure she wasn't being followed and sat it on the floor as she began tinkering with a high tech security lock. She could see light peaking through the cracks in the boards. Suddenly, a green button on the lock appeared and Charm smiled. She turned the lantern off and pulled on the handle to the hatch. It opened and she walked down the last six steps to reach the floor. The room was pretty big and bright. Well, room would be an understatement. It was more like an underground area in a facility. This was because it was Eggman's abandoned base. Charm hung the lantern on a small hook to her right and leapt over the last step, locking the door behind her.

"Why do you go on those stupid walks?" A voice to Charm's right spoke.

Charm frowned playfully in that direction, "Because, Diesel! I like to check on Soleanna. It's my home and I like to protect it."

"Nobody's here but us! Why do you bother with it?" Diesel put his arm around Charm's shoulders.

"You wouldn't understand. And a simple 'welcome home' would be nice!" Charm shook her head.

Charm looked down depressed at the fact that her and her friends used to be able to walk on the surface, but now they were forced to live in some stupid rat hole! Diesel looked at her and pulled her closer to him.

"We'll get Eggman back for this."

Charm looked at Diesel and smiled slightly, "Heck yeah we will! I wish it wouldn't have gotten bad enough to evacuate the city though." Charm paused, "I'm going to my room. See you in a bit."

Diesel paused for a moment, waiting just long enough for Charm to get out of sight, then he sighed and climbed the ladder to Charm's room. There, Charm was sitting on her bed, reading a year-old newspaper article, Notorious Dr. Eggman Attacks Peaceful Kingdom, Soleanna,</u> which was released the day Eggman invaded Soleanna. The only reason that Eggman's empire didn't start with Soleanna was because Soleanna was a small isolated city. Eggman wanted to start big with a large and greatly populated city so that his empire could expand rapidly at first. The empire has not yet stretched to Soleanna, leaving Charm and friends at peace for now. Charm kept reading about how Dr. Eggman's robots terrorized the city the first day and read all the way to the last sentence, The day that the people of Soleanna feared the most has come. Dr. Eggman has overpowered us and is taking over the city. If this does not stop then we the rest of the sheet was blank. The writer had apparently no time to finish the article and published it anyway. Charm sighed. It was like reading a book to her. A book that drew her to it to read more, but there was no ending. How would a person know how the hero survived the villain's trap, or if the prince got the girl? Charm wanted to finish reading the paper, but the words were invisible.

"Charm?" A voice spoke calmly.

Charm looked slowly over her shoulder, recognizing the voice, "Hi, Diesel." She spoke depressingly.

"You okay?"

Charm sat up in her bed and wiped away one tear with her wrist out of her eye, "Yeah, I'm alright."

"You can't hide your agony from me, Charm. I know you too well." Diesel sat on the side of her bed.

Charm was sitting with her legs crossed over on her bed. She looked down, quills dangling around her face, "I want Soleanna back to normal."

"We all do. Some more than others, I'm sure."

Charm looked over at Diesel with her hand over the newspaper. Diesel tilted his head and slid the newspaper out from under Charm's palm, "What's this?"

"A newspaper."

Diesel read a small portion of the paper, "By Soleanna Times."

"The last paper it ever printed." Charm pulled her knees up to her and hugged them.

Diesel felt the need to comfort her, "You kept it?"

"I found it buried in some ashes a few days after Eggman invaded the city. I only found one page, but I want to keep it anyway…as a reminder."

"You want to remember that day?" Diesel looked at Charm strangely.

Charm took the paper from Diesel and folded it over, revealing a small grey picture of what Soleanna looked like before Eggman came. Diesel grabbed the paper and stared, "Oh." He looked up at Charm, who had her chin resting on her knees looking off. Diesel tapped her elbow and she looked up. He had his arms open and she leaned over far enough to bury her face into his chest. His strong arms wrapped around her ensured safety and love. He kissed the top of her hair, inhaling her fragrance.
Then, Charm grabbed Diesel's hand and slid off of her bed, leading him to the tunnel that led back to the living area. She slid down the hatch first with Diesel close behind. She grinned as she squeezed Diesel's hand. He was all the comfort she needed. He never failed to make her feel even a little bit better. Just being around him made Charm feel better. Diesel noticed Charm's expression get very straight, "I'm going for another walk."

"But you just got back." He argued.

"Like I said, I'm going on another one." She walked over to the stairs that led to the surface, leaving Diesel standing alone.

Charm ran up the stairs until and reached the entrance to the storm shelter. Quickly, she opened the hatch, leaving it open, and ran up the stair to the playground. She decided to sit by herself for a while, so she climbed up the side of the orphanage and crawled into a window that the glass was broken out of it. She stepped lightly across the floor, testing to see if it was dry rotted. It wasn't so she walked into a small room where four children sized beds that were covered with inches of dust were.
Charm plopped down on one bed, causing dust to fill the small area around her. She heard something scratching in the corner, so she turned her head in the sound's direction, already uneasy about being outside the walls of the protective base. All she saw was a few rats gnawing at the old wood. She stuck her nose up in disgust, until she heard the roof start cracking. Charm looked up and the roof that appeared to be slowly collapsing at first, then the middle of it completely dropped a foot. Dust and crumbles of cement fell on her and she covered her head with her arms as she slightly squealed once.  She slowly peaked up, and then more dirt fell on her. She ducked again, but didn't feel anymore small pieces of the ceiling hit her. Charm looked up at the ceiling that had nothing more than duct tape holding it from collapsing on her. She easily stood up and tip-toed out of the room. The rats had scattered and were now safely running around in between the walls. Charm sighed and put her hand over her heart. She looked over at the beds curiously. One had a doll on the pillow. She grinned slightly and heard glass crack with her next step. Charm looked down quickly, but only saw part of a broken window. She looked inside the drawer of the nightstand, but it was empty.
Suddenly, Charm felt strong hands grab her by her arms tightly. She grunted while struggling to break free. She wiggled loose, turned quickly with her fists sparking with electricity, and saw Diesel with his hands out in front of himself like a sort of shield. Charm sighed as she allowed her hands to drop.

"What's wrong with you? You nearly scared me half to death!" Diesel snapped.

"Don't even start with me!" Charm held up her finger and walked calmly passed Diesel.

Diesel rolled his eyes, "Why are you up here?"

"Just to empty my mind." She replied.

After a long pause, Diesel grabbed her by her shoulders and leaned his head over on them, "Why don'e we go for a walk together, then?"

Charm smiled and blushed lightly, "Let's."

Shortly after, the two were walking on the streets together. It wasn't exactly the romantic scene someone would want, but being together was enough romance for them. Just being able to walk together again was nice. Charm nudged Diesel's shoulder, "Don't be so tense! No one's been here in over a year."

Diesel put his arm around Charm's back, "There might still be a few active robots."

Charm rolled her eyes, "Okay, okay. Can I show you something?"

"Sure, I guess." Diesel shrugged.

Charm grabbed Diesel's hand as soon as the words escaped his mouth, dragging him to an old theatre. One of the boards that were nailed to the door was pulled off. Obviously, Charm had done this so that she could fit through. Diesel, however, had a harder time trying to squeeze in, due to being larger than Charm. He heard her chuckle in front of him, making him finally snatch himself free. She grabbed his hand and helped him stand and the two walked over to the stage. Charm leaped onto the stage and strutted across the stage as if she was a famous actress. She stopped, held one hand behind her back, and pretended like she was twisting the left side of her mustache, "We shall investigate this crime, right Diesel?"

"What?" He questioned.

Charm winked at him and his grinned, "Oh, and how shall we investigate, Ms. Holmes?"

"Elementary, my dear, Diesel!" Charm joked.

Diesel chuckled and Charm laughed. She grabbed a velvet sash from a hook and threw it around her neck. Diesel got down on one knee and held his hand out to Charm, "Juliet, Juliet, let down thy flowing locks!"

"You do know that wasn't even half Shakespeare right?" Charm teased.

Diesel stood, "Well…let down your long locks down anyway, Snow White."

Charm covered her face with her hand and shook her head, "First off, Juliet is from Shakespeare. Second, Rapunzel is the lady you're referring to…not Snow White."

"Who cares?!" Diesel leaped onto the stage and stood on the other end. Charm smiled at him as they eyed each other for a minute. Just looking at her made Diesel weak. It made him nervous too. He could only wonder what she felt when she laid eyes on him. She blew him a kiss while winking. Diesel breathed in deeply and grinned, "May I be your Romeo?" He asked softly.

Charm turned in surprise, and then smiled, "Yes you may." Charm continued, "But now you have to serenade me very night, and bring me roses. In return, I shall give you a lock of my hair."

"Well, I don't know about the whole serenade." Diesel paused, "But I will definitely bring you roses."

"Well, I suppose giving you my hair wouldn't exactly be rewarding." Charm smiled as the two began walking slow to each other. When they reached, Charm grabbed the sash around her neck and wrapped it around his neck, gently pulling him closer to her. Diesel felt like he was going to melt right there and his knees got shaky. "I love you." She whispered. Diesel's breath caught in his throat, then he swallowed, "I-I love you too." Charm smiled softly and Diesel kissed her neck, "I love you."

"You just said that." Charm said sarcastically.

"It felt so good that I said it twice." Diesel pulled away and held Charm's arms. The two looked rather flushed. Then, Charm took the sash from Diesel's neck and dropped it on the floor. They sat on the side of the stage, and then they kissed after waiting minutes for this chance. They caught breaths between the kiss. They pulled apart, breathless for a minute, watching their feet dangle.

"We have to go now." Diesel stood and was back to his normal, serious self.

Charm stood and rolled her eyes. They exited the theatre and held hands while walking down the sidewalks, "Where are we going?" Diesel questioned. Charm laid her head over on his shoulder, "A different route."

She was leading him to the park. It wasn't beautiful anymore. There was no lush green grass, or tall full trees. But Diesel didn't pay attention. His mind was still on Charm and their kiss. While walking, Charm spotted an old pawn that appeared to be deactivated. She ran over to it, driving Diesel to follow. She bent over and touched one of its broken eyes, "How long do you think it's been here?"

Diesel shrugged, "Be careful."

As soon as Diesel spoke, Charm touched a button under its neck. The robot's eyes lit up and it activated immediately. It started to jerk like it was having a spasm and the long dagger in its metallic hand started to flair around in the air.

"Watch out!" Diesel grabbed Charm's arm, pulling her out of the way.

The dagger flew through the air, right towards Diesel's face. Instinctively he turned his whole body and the dagger just did skim his cheek. Charm got on her knees after rolling a few feet from being thrown a few yards. Diesel looked up at the robot. It was standing now, though its eye was sparking and parts of its arm were too. Charm put her arms under her body and began to lift herself from the ground, but an electric net covered her suddenly. She noticed that she and Diesel fell into a trap. The robot wasn't deactivated, but on stand-by mode. Charm saw that six mechanical balls surrounded her, keeping a tight grip on the electric net. The harder she tried to escape, the more the net tightened. She cursed quickly and the net got so tight that she thought her chest was going to cave.
Then, the pawn started making a loud and ear-piercing scream. Diesel fell to his knees, gripping his ears tightly. But no matter what he did, the sound penetrated ever block he had. Charm, unable to move any of her limbs, had to brutally take the loud noise and she screamed from the pain. When the screaming stopped, Diesel grabbed the dagger and impaled the small robot with it. His ears twitched for a little from the ringing in them. The net was still on Charm's body, though. The metallic balls that had the net tightened on her had larger blades come out of their sides like from a helicopter. All six lifted Charm's body and began to fly off with her. She was moaning and grabbing at her ears, unable to focus on anything else but her pain. Diesel ran towards them, but couldn't reach her in time and they got away with her. Diesel's mind began to scroll through all of the horrible and torturous things that whoever took her could do to her…It made him sick to his stomach. He ran quickly in the direction that the balls were flying in, determined to catch them. He was able to go in the same direction even after they got out of sight and soon he saw something that made him stop in his tracks—a tall tower-looking building with Dr. Eggman's face built on the very top. Diesel waited for a few minutes, catching his breath. Shortly, he was running towards the tower with the image of Charm in his mind.
Meanwhile, Charm woke lying in a large tank. She sat up and scanned the room in confusion. Then, out of the speakers hidden in room somewhere, Charm heard the most familiar and annoying laugh she had ever heard, "I have finally caught you, girl!" Charm frowned while twisting her head in all directions, seeking the source of the voice, "Show yourself, coward!"

"Oh, I can't. I'm much too busy to be wasting my time watching over you, so I have security to do it for me." The voice said.

There was only one person that Charm's mind could find to fit that voice. She looked around the room, which had a red hue to it. The walls were completely made of metal and she saw the stupidest logo all over the equipment around her, "Eggman!" She shouted, "If you don't let me out then I'll find you and cut your heart out!"

"Now, now child, don't be so harsh on me. Those are some strong words for a girl your age." Eggman mocked.

"My name is Charm! Charm! And if I could see you then I'd fill your face with electricity!" She yelled while standing, "What's with the tank anyway? I thought you were better than that if this is your so called security."

"Okay, then…Charm… The tank is not my security. It's just the small thing that's going to keep you from getting away."

Charm smirked, "You think three centimeters of glass is going to keep me from finding you?" She locked her fingers together as a ball and struck the glass. It shattered to the ground and she stepped out. Suddenly, the alarms began to ring out and pawns poured out of the doors. At the sight of the first few, Charm stood in a battle-ready stance. Lasers came out of the floor and roof and Charm was completely surrounded. She knew only a fool would try to fight their way out, so she stood normally as a surrender.

"Good girl. Now, let's take you to…" Eggman was interrupted by the speakers. A woman's voice was repeating, "INTRUDER ALERT-INTRUDER ALERT."

"Oh, blast it!" Eggman shouted. Charm looked around and saw the large metal door that was bolted shut start sparking. She squinted at it, and then saw the sparks jumping across the surface faster. She started to stumble back, wide-eyed. Charm knew what happened once electricity looked like that on a surface with much pressure. Suddenly, the door that was ten foot in height and one foot thick flew across the room, knocking over most of the pawns like bowling pins and crushing them against the wall. They all exploded one after another creating a heat wave that beat on Charm's front body. It burned her eyes, so she covered them and turned away while crouching. A tiresome Diesel stood at the door with his fists clenched. His eyes looked like he had been awake for over three days and his rage at not being able to find Charm caused his body to spark.

"Charm? Are you in here?" He questioned as he stepped in. Charm stood and ran to Diesel. The sight of her made him fill with joy. He opened his arms and she fell into them. Sharing the same ability, the electricity did nothing to Charm. Instead, it just danced around her as well. She pulled her face away from his neck and looked into his eyes. The static from the electricity caused her hair to float slightly. Diesel was shaking, causing Charm's motherly instinct to come out. She pressed the back of her hand to Diesel's forehead. She felt nothing but sweat.

"What's wrong?" Charm questioned. Diesel hugged her again, "Nothing."

Charm didn't say anything further. Then, they both realized that more pawns were on their way when Eggman had stopped speaking. Diesel grabbed Charm's wrist and pulled her in one direction, not knowing where in this building he was going. He pushed open one door with her help. There were fifty foot tall containers full of lava and the room was steaming hot. Charm covered her eyes at first, and then moved her arm, staring at the containers. There were at least twenty five of them. "Oh my God." There was lava everywhere. Then, Charm was jerked by the arm by Diesel, who was pulling her towards another door. "What the heck is Eggman using lava for?!" Charm questioned.

"Who knows?" Diesel replied, opening another door. This room looked like where Dr. Eggman regulated the lava's temperature. There was a large window where someone could keep an eye on the lava. "Wrong room!" Diesel continued to pull Charm through to another door. He let her enter first. As soon as she stepped foot inside the door, larger lasers than before that were about the size of the hedgehogs themselves turned in their direction, "Crap." Charm's ears drooped. The lasers fired immediately and Charm cleverly avoided the attack by leaping over the stream of energy. Diesel hid behind the door, not having time to think. The attack melted right through the glass of window in the last room. It created a hole about two feet wide. Diesel put his hand over his heart as he stared at the hole. That was a very close shot to death. Then, he heard Charm yell, "Cover me, Diesel!" He quickly ran around the door and began shooting electricity at every machine he saw. He spotted Charm leaping over the lasers trying to get to the control panel. One machine shot at her before she reached it. She hit her knees and bent backwards, sliding under it.
Diesel watched her as she avoided every shot like it was nothing. This distracted him, leaving him unaware that a machine was about to shoot at him. Once he heard it fire, it was too late. The shot hit him in the stomach, creating a large and bloody gash. It knocked him back into the wall. Diesel slid down slowly and fell to his knees. Charm saw him and screamed his name, but she knew she had to shut these lasers down before she could see him. She bit her bottom lip and continued leaping over the machines until she reached the control panel. Her hands were shaking as she tried to type. She couldn't find the button to shut the machines down. Charm's worry turned to rage as she slammed her hands down on the control panel and filled it with electricity. The lights flickered and the inside of it blew up, but it was a small explosion. It didn't harm Charm, due to the thick metal around it. All of the lasers stopped firing, so Charm ran over to Diesel, "Diesel? Diesel, are you okay?" He mumbled something in return. Charm barely understood, but she made out that he said "Help me sit up." She pushed on his shoulder, as he was on his hands and knees. Diesel sat down upright and only then did Charm see the extent of his injuries. The tile floor was slick with blood that had dripped from his stomach and the blood had run down his legs. Charm covered her mouth and touched the wound gently. Diesel had his eyes closed and his head was bobbing back and forth, due to his dizziness. His chest was moving at such a rapid rate that Charm was worried that it would just stop. Soon, thought, it slowed.

"Diesel, can you hear me?" She questioned. Diesel lifted his head and rested it back on the wall, eyes still closed.

"Diesel, answer me!" Charm said sternly. Then, Diesel's eyes opened and he looked at her. She sighed with joy even though his eyes were bloodshot and he was sweating heavily. "Say something…please." She said. Diesel paused, "You're beautiful." Charm leaned forward and hugged Diesel's neck, carefully avoiding his wound. "You're okay!"

Diesel grabbed Charm's hand and stood slowly. The reason his wound was not as threatening as would be to a normal person was because of his electric abilities. The laser's shot was 89% raw electrical energy. His body was used to the electric force than already ran through his blood since berth. Had Diesel not been gifted with electricity, the energy stream would have burned all the way through.

"No, that was cheesy." Diesel joked.

"It's good enough for me, now let's scram!" Charm held Diesel's hand and ran slower so that he could keep up. Though, their moment of joy was short-lived. The alarms continued to ring out and more pawns started to come in through the entrance to the room that they were just leaving. Diesel slammed the door behind him and pushed a large piece of machinery in the way so that the pawns couldn't open it, gritting his teeth the whole time from the pain and stress on his wound. Charm grabbed his hand and continued to pull him to the exit as soon as he stopped pushing.

"We have to hurry! I've got a plan and I don't want to be here when I put it in motion!" Charm shouted over the loud sounds of metal clanking and clashing together. They were entering the area where Eggman assembled his pawns. Diesel looked around at all of the huge equipment that was slaving away with Eggman's orders as they melted down metal and formed armor for the pawns.

"They're escaping! Can't you idiots do anything right?!" Eggman shouted at his machines through the loud speakers.

Charm smirked and they started to exit the room. Once Diesel opened the door halfway, Charm stopped and turned back toward the machinery. She calmly raised one hand behind her head, and then flung it in front of her. Her electricity collided with one of the steam pipes that kept the machines from overheating. It blew and steam started to cover the room while the machinery started to work faster and faster. Fearing that the machines were move so rapidly that they would start flinging their parts, Diesel pulled Charm through the door and shut it behind him. He was now leading the two out of the area. From here on out, there seemed to be never ending halls with occasionally a door to the right or left, but nothing encouraging the thought of an exit being any of them.
Quickly they ran, stopping every so often to let the pain ease off of Diesel's wound. Time seemed to be flying by the minutes. There was not a doubt in either of the two's minds that they wouldn't make it out of this place. The Dr. Eggman they knew was no threat and how he actually succeeded in overtaking Soleanna was an unanswered question in each citizen's mind that resided in Soleanna. The two seemed quite confident that they would make it out alive with a limited amount of injuries if none at all. But Dr. Eggman had also picked up new tricks and new evil plots to foil their escape plans. Soon, Diesel was in the need of another rest, taking one every 15 minutes or so. As he bent over and breathed slowly Charm bent over also, preserving her energy as well, until they heard a loud noise that sounded like an explosion. Diesel stood normal, still breathing heavy, and looked down the long dark hole. The tile floor under their feet was starting to rumble and all of a sudden a wave of steaming hot air crashed into their faces. They turned and covered their faces, eyes and cheeks burning from the heat.

"What was that?!" Charm snapped angrily.

Diesel looked down the hall once more and heard a sort of roaring sound. He started to walk back slowly, "I don't think I'm going to like this."

The two continued to step back down the hall, unsure of if they should turn and run or wait. Shortly, a small orange dot appeared down the ongoing tunnel. It was enlarging by the seconds, "Uh, Diesel?" Charm said as if offering up suggestions. Diesel squinted at the dot for a moment, then his eyes widened to an unbelievable width as she grabbed Charm's hand and practically jerked her off her feet. She stumbled, but easily caught up, "What's wrong with you?!" She demanded.

"That's not just a dot!" Diesel shouted as a half answer.

Charm looked behind them and noticed that the dot had already grown to be two times larger, "Then what is it?"

"We're not going to make it!" Diesel shouted as he spotted light at the end of the hall.

"Diesel, what is it?" Charm questioned again.

"No time!" Diesel shouted angrily.

Charm felt heat start to swallow her back. She turned to see that the dot was no longer a dot. It was a perfect circle that was as big as a fist. Only now did she realize that it was a blazing ball of fire and smoke after them that was filling the hall ways walls completely. With nowhere else to go, the pressure of the fire was forced to shoot down the tunnel. Charm's eyes widened to a size to match that of Diesel's and she tried to pick up speed, surprised that Diesel was running this fast with an open wound.

"Diesel, it's a tube of fire coming straight at us from the explosion I caused!"

"I know that!" Diesel snapped.

The end of the hall was now in full view and Charm saw that they were nearing the exit to Eggman's tower. "We're not going to make it!"

"Yes we are!" Diesel shouted back as he suddenly had a speed boost.

Charm glanced behind herself and saw that the fire was like a blazing dragon ready to inhale their bodies, "We're about to be barbequed!"

"Not us!" Diesel shouted back.

Just as Diesel reached the end of the tunnel, Charm screamed from the heat that suddenly engulfed her back and he grabbed the edge of the doorway, slinging Charm around into the wall. He pinned her body against the metal surface and shielded her with his own body by slamming both hands beside her head and planting his feet firmly on the ground. The tube of fire shot out quickly from the tunnel. It continued to pour from the door until one flame whipped around and slapped Diesel's arm. He jerked a little more to the right, away from the fire, but had to assume the position again. After five seconds, the tunnel of fire stopped and Diesel moved away from Charm, grabbing the section of his arm that was now burnt. It was small, but painful.

"Ugh." He snarled.

"I suppose it's my fault, Diesel. You've been getting hurt all day because of me." Charm put her hand over her heart and looked down at the ground to her left.

"Nah, I was bound to get hurt trying to save you anyway. It's not your fault that you got hurt." Diesel comforted Charm.

Charm looked up and smiled, "You always know what to say. Now, time to put my plan into action."

"What plan?" Diesel questioned.

"You'll see when we get to the main yard." Charm grabbed Diesel's wrist and walked with him to the main yard as she said she would.

Diesel followed curiously. Once they walked out into the open stretch of the yard, all security cameras focused on them. Charm grinned, but Diesel, however, thought she was acting strange, "Charm. What are we uh… What are we doing?"

Right after the words left Diesel's mouth; Charm turned quickly and began filling a large generator that was three stories high and almost the same length in width with electricity. Diesel watched the generator start sparking and smoking as the electricity played with its circuits. After 15 seconds of nonstop electricity, Charm was beginning to sweat and tire. Still, she poured all of her energy out in her powers. She began to slump over from exhaustion and the beads of sweat caused her hair to cling to her forehead. Suddenly, she felt what felt like an energy boost. Immediately, Charm stood normally and she stopped sweating. She realized that her electricity got stronger and she was confused. Until, that is, she felt strong arms wrapped around her own. Diesel was holding tightly to her, filling her with his own electricity. It was an amazing filling: Fresh and alive! Charm took a deep breath and Diesel did the same as they gave one final burst of electricity. The generator fell over and something in the very top of Eggman's tower exploded. Something in the middle and the bottom exploded too. All of a sudden, the Eggman tower was toppling over and every piece of machinery in the yard started shutting down.
Apparently, the first generator was linked with the other generators inside the tower that caused interruptions. The interruptions, such as incoming viruses and others, caused the other generators to explode right on Q. Diesel and Charm stood beside each other and watched the tower collapse in awe. They held each other's hand and watched as the target flew off from an emergency escape carrier… Dr. Eggman was getting away and there was nothing they could do. So, as all of the machinery failed and other large equipment blew out, Charm and Diesel walked away, proud that they could say that two young hedgehogs defeated the reign of Dr. Eggman and restored Soleanna to its natural beauty in a few months… And those two hedgehogs. Were them.

Wow! This is amazing! :D
By the way, I'm really sorry about the collab! :( I wish my writers block was gone. How long is it going to stay around?!
