Shadow the Vampire Chpt33

The Chaos emerald stopped glowing.

" Wow...That was weird. " Amy said quietly to herself.

She walked outside and sat on her poarch swing. Even though it was almost pith black. The only light was from the moon. And even then, you could only see if whatever it was was right in front of your face. Amy studied the emerald. She turned it. The moon light shined on the emerald and made it sparkle. Then Amy stood up, put her elbows on the poarch bannester, and rested her head in her hands. But then, she heard something in the bushes, cracking. It was sticks breaking. But the sound was too loud to be any type of squrrel or bird. It sounded more...larger. Amy was a little frightened beings it wasn't every night she heard strange noises at night. Amy grabbed the green emerald and held it close to her. Then, Shadow, walked out from the bushes. Almost just as Rouge did when Amy first met her. Amy calmed down, but was suprised.

" Shadow?! " Amy said quietly but loud enough for Shadow to hear her.

" I've come for the emerald. " Shadow admitted plainly.

" The emerald? " Amy said as she looked down at the Chaos emerald.

But when she looked back up, Shadow was face-to-face with her. Looking her dead in the eyes.

" I haven't come to start trouble. As I said before I just came for the emerald. " Shadow asured.

Amy quickly took a few steps back, unsure of what Shadow was doing. Amy was silent. She didn't say a word. She looked at Shadow strangly. What does he want with this emerald? Did Rouge send him here?

" Okay then. " Shadow said with patience running short.

He walked quickly towards Amy. And then snatched the emerald from her. Without any time to think, amy shouted,

" HEY! "

Shadow walked down the poarch stairs and ignored Amy, as he did just what he told he was going to do, get the emerald and leave. Amy wondered why Shadow didn't use his skates. Did he want Amy to catch up with him?

" Shadow! " Amy shouted once more.

Shadow contenued to walk. Amy ran quickly up to him and grabbed his shoulder. Shadow turned around and hissed at Amy as he showed her his teeth. Amy covered her mouth in amazement. Amy didn't think Shadow would ever do something like that. To her of all people! But as soon as he did it, he turned around as if he didn't do anything.

" I'm not scared of you! " Amy admitted with a slitely loud voice.

Shadow stopped in his tracks. Without even a flinch. He turned slowly around, facing her but was still a few yards away.

" You should be. " Shadow said quietly.

" Why? " Amy questioned.

Amy blinked and Shadow was, once again, face-to-face with her. But this time, even closer. They were so close, there noses were touching. You could say they could feel each others breath. Amy didn't have time to think before Shadow grabbed Amy's arms tightly. It gave Amy a little pain.

" Now, are you afraid of me? " Shadow said as if he were enjoying it. But Shadow was anything but enjoying it.

" NO! " Amy snapped.

Shadow's sturn crimson eyes that were looking into Amy's, softened. Even now. She not, afraid? Of me? Shadow let go, turned and walked away. But Amy was about to let him leave this time.

" Shadow! " Amy said for the third time. She couldn't think of any words to discribe how she felt so she said to him,

" Please stay. I beg you."

" I...I can't Amy. Please understand. I don't want to hurt you. " Shadow said and for once, showing a softer side.

" No Shadow. I don't understand. " Amy told him.

" I can't be near you. Your blood keeps tempting me. " Shadow said.

" What do you mean, my blood is tempting you? " Amy questioned.

" Amy. " Shadow started, " Everytime you get near me, I want to...to..." Shadow said closing his eyes tightly and holding his hands close to him as if whatever he was thinking was really gruesome.

Shadow was also struggling to find the right words.

Amy knew what he was about to say. She knew Shadow wanted to drink her blood. She also saw Shadow's face expression and knew he was having trouble finding words. So she helped him by interrupting,

" I know. You already told me that people's blood is much more richer than animal blood. That's why you tried to bite Sonic and me. " Amy said with a small smile offering kindness.

" No Amy. You don't understand. With you it's, different. Your blood sent is different. " Shadow said opening his eyes slowly but still looking at the ground.

Amy slowly took one step forward to see if Shadow would say anything. He didn't so she contenued to walk slowly to him. She finally reached him but he still refused to make eye contact.

" Shadow. Your my friend. I'll always be your friend. No matter what. I know you'll never hurt me. " Amy said kindly.

Amy's soft and gentle words of peace calmed Shadow. He felt at peace now. His eyes widened.

" You think of us as... friends? " Shadow said as he slowly looked up at her. He finally made eye contact which made Amy happy.

Amy had one hand on her chest and one finger on Shadow's chin forcing hiim to look at her.

" Yes Shadow. " Amy gave him a soft smile and then hugged him.

Shadow smelt Amy's blood. It was much more stronger than before. Mainly because Amy was hugging him and that's as close to a neck as you can get. Shadow's eyes tried to fog up. So he blinked a few times really hard refusing to bite his best friend. Then Amy let go which was a real relief to Shadow because he couldn't smell her anymore.

" Wil you stay? " Amy asked softly.

Shadow looked at the moon. Which was at it's half point. Shadow slightly frouned as if he knew something Amy didn't.

" I'll stay. " Shadow said. But he knew he wasn't gonna be there long. So he might as well enjoy himself while he can.

Amy grabbed his hand and lead him inside. Shadow got to his room, which was across the hall from Amy's. He lay in his bed and stared at the ceiling for a while. And looked at the moon. Won't be long now.<i>
