Thorns and Roses Chpt 49

They sat down infront of each other and talked for hours. Shadow finally had to ask a question he had been meaning to ask.

" How do I know you're a real vampire? " Shadow questioned.

" I have fangs don't I? " Rouge answered.

" Looks can be deceving. " Shadow questioned.

Rouge smiled.

Shadow cocked his eye.


--- Present Time ---

Shadow, told Amy everything.

" So that's what happened. Rouge was the only vampire you knew? " Amy questioned.

Shadow nodded. She was my only friend. Untill four years later.

--- At A Lake Four Years Ago ---

Shadow saw a human with a fishing pole and tackle box in a small row boat. He was about to go fishing. Then Shadow jumped onto the humans boat and walked to him slowly.

" Who are you? What are you doing?! " The human questioned.

This didn't phase Shadow. Shadow showed his teeth at the man.

" Please! Don't do this! " The human cried.

Shadow stopped. The human's beg for mercy made Shadow feel starnge. Then Rouge jumped into the boat behind the man.

" Oh, Shadow. You're too soft. " Rouge smiled as she bit down on the mans neck.

" No! " Shadow reached his hand out. But it was too late.

The man gasped for breath but couldn't move. He sounded like he was choking. Shadow thought to himself, How can she do that? Later in the forest, Shadow was walking infront of Rouge.

" Why are you so mad? " Rouge asked.

" You bit that human with no mercy! " Shadow snapped.

" Yeah! That's what we vampires do! " Rouge snapped back.

" What if I don't want to do that like you? " Shadow yelled.

" Are you saying you don't want to be with me anymore?! " Rouge questioned loudly.

" Not if you don't respect my disicion of not attacking people! " Shadow shouted.

They paused and starred at each other.

" ...Well...Then...It was good being your friend, Shadow. " Rouge said turning her back.

She started to wal off in one direction, as did Shadow. Rouge stopped.

" I thought I was more to you. " Rouge said.

Shadow stopped and listened.

" More like a...girlfriend. I always thought of you as my boyfriend, Shadow. You used to be my best friend. But I guess all things change in time. " Rouge said leaping into the forest.

About three months later, that's when Shadow attacked the human in the forest, as seen in chapter one.

--- Present Time ---

" It was a shame. But Rouge wouldn't stand by me when I needed her. " Shadow said looking down in sadness.

Amy felt bad. She wanted to make Shadow feel better. But she didn't know how. Shadow sat up and looked at Amy.

" Thank you. " Shadow said.

" For what? " Amy smiled.

" Just for being there for me. For letting me know I'm not alone in this world. " Shadow smiled.

Amy felt better now. All warm and fuzzy inside. Shadow stood up and helped Amy up. Shadow smelled Amy, but it wasn't a hungry smell. It was more just like a sweet smell. Shadow started to leave the room.

Amy wanted to talk more with Shadow. She felt safe around him. So she spoke up quickly.

" Shadow! " Amy questioned.

He turned his head around to see what she had to say.

" Umm... If vampires are attracked to normal blood then why does it not affect them when they smell other vampire blood? " She asked quickly.

" Well... It's kind of like vampires can't smell other vampire blood because it's another vampire. We're immune to the smell. But don't drink vampire blood! " Shadow answered.

" why not? " Amy questioned.

" It'll make you, as people say, drunk. It has the same chemical that's inside another vampires body and when they react, the result is a very messed up person. " Shadow said.

" Oh. Ok. " Amy said.

Then Shadow left the room. Amy wanted Shadow to stay longer, but she didn't want to bug him.
